A Briton who drowned in Qawra last week had moved to Malta to start a new life, the Mirror reports.

He was also due to get married later this year.

Stephen Martin Thomas, 63, was pronounced dead after being pulled from the water in Qawra on 12 June.

The tragedy happened close to the National Aquarium, where Thomas is believed to have fallen from rocks.

Thomas moved permanently to Malta three years ago.
