Covid-19: 91 new cases, two deaths recorded

Ninety-one new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday, while two more deaths were registered, health authorities said.

The number of cases registered in Malta so far has climbed to 33,995, while active cases dropped by 125 to 2,194.

The total of recoveries is now 30,982.

A total of 3,862 swab tests were carried out, for a total of 1,079,695.

The total number of deaths is now 423.

The latest two victims are two men aged 95 and 86, both of whom died at Mater Dei Hospital. The last time Malta registered two Covid-19 deaths in one day was on 30 April.

There are now 36 patients at the hospital, one of whom is in intensive care.

The average age of the people who tested positive yesterday was 35.

Until Tuesday, the number of vaccinations given was 750,641, of which 396,087 were first dose. In all, 373,771 people are fully vaccinated.
