A woman was seriously injured on Friday afternoon in a crash in Xemxija, the police said.

The accident took place in Xemxija Hill, St Paul’s Bay, at around 4.45pm.

A Mazda Demio driven by a 32-year-old Ukrainian woman, who resides in Marsa, crashed into three parked vehicles, a BMW 320I, a Renault Megane and a Muitsubishi L200.

The driver was unhurt but a 40-year-old woman from Estonia, who was a passenger in the Mazda, suffered serious injuries.

The Estonian woman, who resides in Naxxar, was taken to hospital.

Magistrate Nadine Lia is leading an inquiry.
