Saturday, 18 September 2021, 07:54 Last update: about 4 years ago

“A small stone led to poisoning” is how Nationalist Party deputy leader Robert Arrigo this morning described a medical condition that kept him in intensive care for a few days earlier this month.

Writing on Facebook, the 66-year-old MP said that he spent 10 days in ITU, but is now recovering.

What he went through means that “prayers do help”, he said.

Arrigo is still in hospital but is recovering.

“You left me speechless,” he said about the hundreds of messages he received during his ordeal.

His family had said that the PN deputy leader was admitted to hospital after experiencing pains which were suggestive of kidney stones.

"Before any intervention could be made, Robert developed an infection that infected his blood stream and was transferred to the Intensive Therapy Unit of Mater Dei Hospital under the excellent care of the medical team at ITU, for which the family wholeheartedly thank,” his family had said.
