A 21-year-old Tarxien resident was arrested in connection to a store theft, the police said in a statement.

During the night between Saturday and Sunday, a man had broken through a store door and stole a number of airsoft rifles, airsoft ammunition and other objects worth thousands of euros from a shop on Triq il-Merhba, Fgura.

The police identified the alleged thief and the man was arrested on Monday morning in his home, where the stolen objects were also found.

The man is expected to be charged in court today.
