Around 90% of the Covid-19 stimulus vouchers have been used, as the deadline for their usage fast approaches, the Economy Ministry said in a statement.

Just three days are left for the €100 stimulus vouchers to be used, with the deadline being 31 October.

Economy Minister Silvio Schembri appealed to those who are yet to use these vouchers – a key government measure in order to stimulate the businesses which were worst hit during the Covid-19 pandemic – to use them at the eligible places.

MIMCOL data shows that around 90% of both the blue (for retail outlets) and red (for restaurants and hospitality) vouchers had been used, meaning that 10% remain unutilised.

Schembri said that he was satisfied with the public response and the response from businesses to the scheme, which he said had injected €50 million into the Maltese economy.
