Mark Camilleri does not back down after Rosianne Cutajar libel: ‘I will become your worst nightmare’

Former book council chief Mark Camilleri has refused to back down after PL MP Rosianne Cutajar filed a libel suit against him over claims written in Camilleri’s new book, ‘A Rent Seeker’s Paradise.’

In the book, Camilleri claims that Cutajar had an intimate relationship with Yorgen Fenech – the man alleged to have masterminded the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia and who was at the centre of the Electrogas corruption scandal through his company 17 Black.

Cutajar said she will not allow her integrity to be tarnished which is why she would be filing a libel suit against Camilleri.

The author, who has already faced a libel threat from former Minister Manuel Mallia over claims in his book, however did not back down.

Taking to Facebook on Friday morning, Camilleri branded Cutajar as a “foolish cowards” to hide behind her family and behind the concept of humanity, and called her a “liar” and “totally corrupt.”

“You have asked me to pull down my Facebook post and even opened a libel case against me. You expect me to comply because you come from a corrupt environment where money rules and the game is set on conspiracies. You are going to be very disappointed because I am a trader and I trade and destroy things for a living. So, let's make a deal. Let's make a trade,” Camilleri wrote.

“I will remove my posts about you including my NFT of you if you resign from politics completely. You will never hear of me again if you leave politics. Your alternative is this. Stay in politics, keep up your libel case and I will become your worst nightmare,” he continued.

Camilleri described Cutajar as “corrupt” and as “belonging in jail”, saying that she and her “corrupt friends” had not only ruined the Labour Party, but also ruined the country.

Camilleri also published a set of screenshots which he says were conversations between Fenech and businesswoman Diane Izzo, which show Fenech commenting on Cutajar.

Cutajar resigned from her post as parliamentary secretary earlier this year, after she was the subject of a standards investigation over her alleged links to a multi-million euro property deal involving Fenech – where she was found to have breached ethics.
