The Met Office is issuing a warning about strong winds hitting the Maltese Islands today and tomorrow.

In an orange alert, the Met Office said the west south-west wind “will be strong to very strong” in the next hours.

Force 6 and 7 winds are expected, with a forecast of Force 8 winds for later in the day and overnight before it returns to Force 5-6 on Tuesday.

Due to the weather forecast, Gozo Channel said that it might need to cancel some trips.

"Current Operations are being operated Via the Comino route," it said on Facebook.
