133 new cases of Covid-19 cases were reported by health authorities on Friday, as the higher number of cases continued.

75 people have also recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 1,348 active cases of the virus.

The number of people in hospital shot up by four in the last 24 hours, going from 11 on Thursday to 15 on Friday.  Two of those remain in intensive care – unchanged from the previous day.

965,802 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Thursday, with 127,100 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 39,714 cases of the virus so far. 37,579 of those have recovered, while 468 have died.
