Popular showman and presenter Enzo Gusman has died, his wife said on Facebook.

Gusman died in his home in Canada after a long illness. He was 74.

“Enzo’s words have now come to be true,” his wife Carmen wrote on Facebook.

“Our beloved left his long suffering behind, to join the risen Lord where he will suffer no more. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, whom he loved so dearly. We kindly ask to be given some privacy so we can mourn his loss. Funeral details will be announced later on. Thank you. May the Lord grant him eternal rest which he truly deserves. Till we meet again, my love…you might be gone, but you will remain in our hearts forever.”

Gusman, born in Sliema, spent a whole career in the entertainment business as a singer, DJ and showman.

He had multiple radio shows on several stations, with his most popular being Bejn il-Hbieb.

He won the Malta Song Festival five times.

He was the father of two girls, Johanna and Greta.

In 2011, he was awarded the Gieh ir-Repubblika.
