922 cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Wednesday as two more patients passed away while positive for the virus.
During the last 24 hours, a 65-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman died while they were positive for Covid-19, bringing Malta’s death toll up to 482.
Meanwhile, 409 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases stands at 14,632. It has now been two straight weeks that the record of active cases has been broken.
121 patients meanwhile are receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital – three less than Tuesday – with five of those in intensive care.
1,097,030 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 246,464 of those being booster shots.
Malta has had 57,069 cases of the virus so far. 41,606 of those have recovered, while 482 have died.
