The number of daily Covid-19 cases has continued their decline, with 288 new cases being reported by health authorities on Monday.

699 meanwhile have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases now stands at 9,509.

No new deaths were recorded on Sunday.

124 patients – up by 22 since Sunday – meanwhile are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with eight of those in intensive care.

1,170,747 doses of the vaccine have now been administered, with 306,964 of those being booster shots.

Malta has had 63,936 cases of the virus. 53,572 of those have recovered, while 506 have died.
