PN is not credible about energy bills - Labour party

Thursday, 27 January 2022, 15:21 Last update: about 3 years ago

The PN is not credible about energy bills, the Labour Party said.

The PL said that the only government that stole from people was one led by the PN. Not only were such bills increased at an alarming rate but were increased more than they did around the European Union.

The PL was replying to a press conference by PN Deputy leader David Agius earlier today.

The Labour government first lowered the bills, and at present, has been able to keep stable prices despite there being an explosion in energy prices in Europe and around the world.

The Labour Government has left more than €600 million in people's pockets through the reduction of water and electricity bills.

The current computation of bills is based on a legal notice issued in 2009, when the PN was in government. The only change that the Labour government had done since then was that bills became 25% cheaper, as confirmed by the Auditor General's report.
