A man was grievously injured this morning when the car he was driving crashed into plastic barriers and heavy machinery parked on the side of the road, the police said.

The accident happened in Ghajn Dwieli Road, Paola, at 3.45am.

The man was driving an Audi A3.

He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
