Five men were arrested over drug trafficking and possession in Gozo.

Following days of observation, the police conducted a search in an Għajnsielem establishment. Suspected cocaine was found in the possession of three men aged 22, 30 and 59. Another search in Xaghra was conducted, where the police stopped a vehicle with a 20 and 21-year-old inside. A substance believed to be cannabis was found in circumstances that led to the belief that it was for trafficking, the police said.

The men were taken to the Police lock-up in Floriana and are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.

Investigations are ongoing.
