Singer Chris Scicluna – of Chris and Moira fame – dies

Chris Scicluna, more known as part of the Chris and Moira duo – has died, his wife has said.

He was 62.

"With a shattered and a broken heart we say goodbye to my beloved husband.. CHRIS", Moira has written on Facebook.

"Father to our daughter Michela.. Best friend.. Music mentor.. Traveling buddy.. My shadow.. for the past 27 years.. THANKYOU for the beautiful life we shared.. A full life of love...amazing passion for music.. Our adventures.. Our travels.. We shared a lot of wonderful experiences together as music lovers and husband and wife.. I LOVE YOU CHRIS❤️fly high my hubby.. Hope you're rockin up there.. You are now with your dad.. mummy and papa".

Chris and Moira had represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, with the song More Than Love.

They had finished fifth, one of the best placings Malta achieved.

The two had married two weeks after the contest.

Chris returned to the Eurovision stage five years later as a backing vocalist, when together with Moira, he wrote Believe 'n Peace for the girlband Times Three.

The singer's death comes on the day when Malta is selecting its song for the coming Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Italy in May.
