Two men have died while positive for Covid-19, as health authorities announced 77 new cases of the virus in their daily update on Sunday.
The authorities said that two men, aged 70 and 87 respectively, had died while positive for the virus between Saturday and Sunday.
157 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 816.
42 patients are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with four of those in intensive care.
1,236,598 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 340,340 of those being booster doses.
Malta has had 70,603 cases of the virus so far. 68,755 of those have recovered, while 596 have died.
