Two elderly men injured in multi-car crash in Valletta

Two elderly men were injured in a multi-car crash in Valletta on Monday morning.

Police said in a statement that they were informed of a traffic accident involving a number of cars at around 11:15 on Monday in Triq Papa Piju V in Valletta.

Preliminary investigations showed that an Open Corsa being driven by a 91-year-old man who lives in San Gwann was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic being driven by a 66-year-old Englishman who lives in Lija.

As a result, the Opel Corsa hit four vehicles which were parked along that road.

An 84-year-old man who lives in Sliema was a passenger with the 91-year-old.  Both the elderly men were taken to hospital and certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
