Sunday, 13 March 2022, 09:52 Last update: about 3 years ago

Held both at The Xara Lodge and online, the 2022 IFSP Conference will discuss the key issues currently faced by Malta’s financial services industry

The Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) will host its highly anticipated annual conference on April 7.

The hybrid conference will welcome participants for the day-long event at The Xara Lodge, Rabat, while the option to view online via a live stream on Zoom will also be available for those unable to attend in person.

With a programme shaped around the theme Revitalising Financial Services - Mapping a Sustainable Path for Malta, the conference will focus on some of the hottest issues currently faced by practitioners working within Malta's financial services industry. Topics discussed via a panel of expert speakers will include AML requirements, the challenges of recent tax developments such as the Pillar Two initiative by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the proposed Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD 3), as well as how to reinstate Malta's reputation as a reliable international financial centre.

"The IFSP Conference 2022 will be an opportunity to assess the size of the island's financial services sector and highlight once again its crucial importance as a pillar of the Maltese economy," says IFSP President Tonio Zarb. "It is a key fixture on the industry's annual events calendar, bringing together professionals from across the sector to network, share ideas and discuss solutions for a better and more sustainable future for financial services in Malta."

The IFSP serves as 'the voice of the financial services industry in Malta' through its members, a diverse range of related professionals. Working closely with regulators and the authorities, the IFSP aims to clearly communicate the perspectives of industry practitioners to the Government of the day, while offering expert guidance to safeguard this important economic sector.

The IFSP Conference 2022 will take place at The Xara Lodge and online via Zoom on 7 April 2022 between 9am and 4.30pm, with registration opening at 8am. The registration fee of €145 for IFSP members and €175 for non-members is applicable for both in-person and online attendance. For organisations sending five or more delegates, all delegates register at the members' rate. More information is available at www.ifsp.org.mt/conference/
