A biker has died and another was slightly injured after a crash on the Regional Road on Tuesday evening, the police said.

The accident took place on the Kappara flyover, limits of Gzira, in the direction of Marsa at 11pm.

It involved two bikes, both of them Suzuki GSXR600.

Riding the bikes were two men aged 28, one from Luqa and one from Zabbar.

They were taken to hospital, with the Luqa biker certified dead soon afterwards while the one man was slightly hurt.

He has been named by TVM as Andrea Alamango.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry.
