A motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident that took place in Rabat on Thursday morning.

The accident took place in Triq Ġorġ Borġ Olivier at around 11:30am, the police said.

A collision took place between a Yamaha 400 driven by a 59-year-old man from Zebbug and a Ford Fiesta driven by a 56-year-old man from Rabat. The motorcyclist was treated on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
