Over the past five weeks the opposition has shown that it does not deserve people's trust, Prime Minister Robert Abela said on Tuesday.

During a political event in Paola, Abela said that with their proposals the nationalist party wants to remove all that has been achieved under a labour government.

"What we have achieved up untill now is just the basis for the future, we need your trust for the 1000 ideas to become a reality", he said.

He added that the Nationalist party started to panic every time the PL announced a new proposal. He remarked that the PL's vision for the future promotes a better quality of life, more opportunities and Malta as a more beautiful country.

Abela said that next Saturday's vote can mean a better environment and pensions. Apart from that, it will mean better schemes for first-time buyers and better tax rates for workers, he said.

Abela said that the PL needs a strong representation in parliament to implement the reforms it wants, "as the oppositions opposes every change."

"On Saturday go out and vote early, and until late that night we will continue to convince others to take a decision in favour of a better future" he said.

Speaking about past achievements, the PL leader reminded that it was a PL government that introduced free childcare, better equality and pay for women.

"I do not want to go back to the past, when there was a high unemployment rate and frozen pensions", he said.

Speaking about the last budget, Abela said that he had mentioned that he wants a better future for Malta, one where children can reach their full potential, with better education that opens new horizons.

"We want everyone to be able to have a career," he said.

He added that the Labour party has become the 'Yes party', "the one that makes people's dreams come true. Where if an individual does not succeed the first time, we will provide them with a second chance".

Addressing all voters,  Abela said that when they go out and vote on Saturday, they will not only be voting for themselves, but for their children's future.
