Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that although the Labour Party is projected to win the elections with a significant majority, “the PL is there to represent all voters and not just Labourites.”

“Today Malta has won together, this show of faith is a sign that we have to work harder to change our 1,000 proposals into 1,000 achievements,” he told jubilant supporters who gathered outside the PL headquarters to celebrate the party's electoral win.

Abela said that although the past few years were characterised by hard times, he feels humbled that the Maltese population still had faith in him and the PL.

“I am humbled by the result and this means that we have to work hard to show those voters who did not show faith in the PL that we are here to represent everyone and I will not tolerate any form of arrogance against anyone.”

Appealing for national unity, Abela spoke about the importance of the country working together in order to reach new heights “together.”

“With my first mandate, I want to take our country to new levels and address the stresses of our country. Malta will work together and we will all benefit from this, the future is bright.”
