Minister for the Economy, EU Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri is the first minister to have invited to his office five Nationalist Party shadow cabinet ministers who shadow his extensive portfolio.

In an unprecedented move, Minister Schembri welcomed Ivan J Bartolo, Robert Cutajar, Rebekah Cilia, Ivan Castillo and Bernice Bonello to his Valletta office where they discussed the roles that mirror his portfolio, from Economy, to EU funds and Lands.

In a post on his official social media channels, Minister Schembri said that in order to see that our country continues to be successful, we need to work hand in hand and listen to various opinions and views.

This, he continued, will ensure an economy for the good of all.

Minister Schembri invited his shadows before Parliament opens in the first week of May, almost six weeks after the general election was held.

The PN shadow cabinet was announced on April 18.
