A biker has died after losing control of the motorbike he was riding on the Coast Road on Thursday morning, the police said.

The biker, a 35-year-old French man who resides in Sliema, lost control of the Honda CB 600 he was riding and crashed into a crash barrier.

The police said the man was caught beneath the barrier while the bike ended up in the vegetation on the side of the street.

The victim was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading an inquiry.

This is the 13th road fatality of 2022.
