Maltese journalists Neil Camilleri and Giuseppe Attard are producing a documentary about their recent experience in Ukraine, with the aim of raising funds for refugees living under the care of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

Camilleri and Attard, who are employed by The Malta Independent, travelled to Ukraine between 28 March and 7 April, visiting cities like Lviv and Kyiv, and witnessed widespread destruction and loss of life at Irpin and war crimes in Bucha.

During their stay, they also interviewed many refugees staying at Salesian homes in Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia.

The documentary will be available exclusively on GO TV from 23rd May.

GO enabled the team to remain connected by providing them with unlimited data during their stay in Ukraine.

The documentary will feature yet unpublished footage from places such as Irpin, Bucha, Stoyanka and Dmitrivka, as well as interviews with Ukrainian mothers who fled the conflict with their children.

The two journalists also speak about their experiences in country, including the situation in Kyiv, and the support they were given by Ukrainian volunteers.

All proceeds from the documentary will go to the Salesians, who will use the funds to care for refugee families.

The team will this week be heading back to Ukraine, where they will be reporting from cities in the eastern part of the country. They will once again be supported by GO. They plan to produce a second documentary upon their return.
