17 police officers assigned to Cyber Crimes Unit, 93 to Financial Crimes Investigations Department

17 police officers are currently assigned to the Cyber Crime Unit within the Police Force and the Financial Crimes Investigations Department has a total of 93 assigned police officers, information tabled in Parliament reveals.

Answering a parliamentary question by PN MP Joe Giglio about the number of police officers who are assigned to various sections within the force, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri responded.

The minister said that a total of 27 police officers are assigned to the Gender Based and Domestic Violence Unit.

The number of police officers working in police districts around Malta amounts to 697. 95 police officers are assigned in police districts throughout Gozo.

The number of police officers assigned to Community Policing stands at 87 officers.
