A woman is in danger of dying after she was involved in a traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that the accident took place in Triq Blat il-Qamar in Siggiewi at around 13:00 on Tuesday.

Preliminary investigations showed that the accident had taken place between a Toyota Hilux being driven by a 46-year-old man from Mosta and a Honda NSC motorbike being ridden by a 27-year-old man from the Czech Republic.

A 25-year-old woman from the Czech Republic was riding pillion on he motorbike at the time of the accident.

Police said that as a result of the accident, a 26-year-old man from the Czech Republic who was riding a different Honda NSC motorbike lost control of his vehicle and fell.

A medical team took all three of the Czech nationals to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The woman was later certified as suffering from serious injuries, while the condition of the two men remains pending.

Duty Magistrate Leonard Caruana is leading a magisterial inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
