The prosecution is led by Jean Paul Attard. Dr David Bonello  is defence counsel.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening in a restaurant in Wilga Street, corner with Dragonara Road, at 10.30pm.

The police had said in a statement that the Spaniard entered the restaurant, grabbed a knife and a glass bottle and started to attack the patrons.

Police officers were called to the site but, on their arrival, the Spaniard did not obey their orders and behaved aggressively.

The officers used a taser gun to control the man and arrest him, the police statement said.
