A Lufthansa flight which departed from Malta was diverted to Palermo on Tuesday after the pilots of the aircraft noticed a discrepancy in one of its engines.
The flight left Malta on Tuesday evening to Frankfurt, Germany, but the flight – which was meant to last around 2 hours and 40 minutes – was forced to land soon after.
However, the pilots soon after requested an emergency landing at Palermo’s Falcone & Borsellino Airport in Sicily after an unspecified discrepancy was identified in one of the aircraft’s two engines.
The flight – LH1311 – landed without incident just after 8pm according to regional newspaper La Sicilia.
All passengers disembarked safely and another aircraft was dispatched to take them to Frankfurt.
