Third man charged in connection with Marsalforn robberies

A third man has been arraigned in connection with a string of thefts that occurred in Marsalforn.

On Tuesday, two men were charged with carrying out two armed robberies in Marsalforn over the past weekend.

Police said that the men – a 42-year-old Libyan who lives in Munxar and a 26-year-old Maltese who lives in Ghajnsielem – were arrested following intensive investigations by Gozo District polce.

They were arrested in connection with two violent armed robberies which took place in Marsalforn on 10 July this year.

On Saturday, the police said that a third man was arrested and charged before the Gozo courts.

He is a Dutchman, aged 28, and resides in Munxar.

He was charged before Magistrate Brigitte Sultana. The man pleaded not guilty and was given bail.
