A fire broke out at an open storage area in Kordin on Sunday, covering the area under a thick, black plume of smoke.

A number of boats, vehicles and tyres were destroyed in the blaze.

Earlier reports that the fire had broken out at a paper products factory were incorrect.

Several Civil Protection Department went on site. The fire had been mostly extinguished by 3pm. 

A number of ambulances were also sent to the scene as a precaution, but no injuries were reported.
