Former Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici has been admitted hospital.

Mifsud Bonnici was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday according to the Labour Party’s media house ONE News.

Mifsud Bonnici served as Prime Minister between 1984 and 1987, succeeding Labour party stalwart Dom Mintoff.

The PL lost the 1987 election under Mifsud Bonnici’s leadership, although he remained party leader until 1992.

Mifsud Bonnici is now 89 years old.
