A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital after a crash in the northbound direction of Regional Road, Santa Venera.

His condition is still pending.

The crash happened between the motorbike, a Kawasaki Ninja, driven by a 37-year-old male from Kirkop, and a Mazda 2, driven by a 33-year-old male from Zebbug. 

The accident occurred at around 8am on Monday.

Reports have been made that the accident has caused major traffic in several areas around the island.
