A man whose identity is still not known has died after being hit by a car in Triq Diċembru 13 in Marsa on Monday afternoon.

The driver of the car, a Mercedes, is a 66-year-old Fgura man.

A police spokesperson said that the accident happened at around 2.10pm.

The man died soon after being taken to hospital.

Magistrate Marseanne Farrugia is leading an inquiry.

The stretch of road where the accident happened is currently closed to traffic.
