A man who was critically injured on Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car, has died in hospital, the police said.

The accident happened in Triq Xrob l-Ghagin, Zejtun, at 9am.

The man, aged 69, was hit by an Isuzu Elf driven by a 62-year-old man. Both are from Zejtun.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with grievous injuries, and he died a few hours later.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli is leading an inquiry.
