A bus without any passengers crashed into a wall of a construction site and into a petrol station in Mellieha early on Saturday, the police said.
The bus, an Otokar Vectio, was being driven by a 41-year-old Indian man, resident in Qormi.
He was driving down George Borg Olivier Street towards Selmun at around 4.15am when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall separating a construction site and a petrol station.
A Mazda 5 which was parked on the side of the road was also hit by the bus. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
The driver was taken to hospital. His condition is as yet unknown.
The road was temporarily closed to traffic until the bus was lifted away.
