Thursday, 17 November 2022, 15:29 Last update: about 2 years ago

The government has issued a call for expressions of interest which will lead to an investment of more than €2 million in the installation of automatic toilets.

Launching the initiative, parliamentary secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli said that all regional councils will have the opportunity to apply for a maximum of €360,000, which will then be distributed among a minimum of six local councils within the region.

This is yet another electoral pledge that will be fulfilled, Zerafa Civelli said. This will enable local councils to install public toilets which have an automatic cleaning system, using the latest technology.

Public toilets will now be cleaner, safer and more accessible, she said.
