A man was seriously injured after falling from a balcony at 2.30pm on Thursday, the police said.

The man was in a balcony on Triq it-Turisti, St Paul's Bay. The 57-year-old fell from a metre and a half height. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and was certified as having suffered serious injuries.

Investigations are ongoing and a magisterial inquiry was launched.
