Two elderly women were hospitalised after crashing into a wall in Mellieha.

The accident occurred on Friday at around 2:45 pm on Triq it-Telgha ta Selmun.

The police told The Malta Independent that the accident involved a Nissan Qashqai, which was being driven by a 67-year-old woman from St Paul's Bay. She lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall. A 68-year-old woman from St Paul's Bay was a passenger in the vehicle.

They were both taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment to grievous injuries.

The police investigation is ongoing.
