The Malta Developers Association (MDA) has joined forces with checkyourtraders.com, to represent the “full package” of the construction industry and to continue working as a lobby with the government to regulate and licence the industry.
The website checkyourtraders.com offers a service to customers who can search for their ideal tradesperson, whose profile will include verifications, ratings and comments from other customers. For tradespeople, it offers a verification subscription which ensures the customer that the tradesperson has been reviewed by the company and they are qualified to do their work.
Director of the company Lauren Emma Rampley said that this is a positive move for the industry as the goal of the company is to “clean up” the tradespeople industry by promoting professionally qualified tradespeople.
The president of the MDA, Michael Stivala said that the goal of the MDA wants to represent the full spectrum of the construction industry.
Stivala also spoke very highly of the construction industry as it is important for the economy.

He spoke about the benefit of checkyourtraders.com as it holds traders accountable and it benefits consumers. He added that holding the construction industry up to a high standard is important to attract foreign investors when they come to Malta.
