Multiple injuries in Luqa crash

A traffic accident in Luqa at 6pm on Saturday has left multiple people injured, the police said.

The accident occurred on Vjal l-Avjazzjoni, and involved a Renault Captur and a Mercedes C300.

The Mercedes was being driven by a 29-year-old man from Fgura, and there was a 31-year-old female passenger from Santa Venera.

The Renault was being driven by a 40-year-old man from St Paul's Bay, and there were two passengers - a 47-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, both from Safi.

The three people in the Renault, and the woman in the Mercedes were taken to hospital.

The 46-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, while the two men who were in the Renault and the woman who was in the Mercedes suffered grievous injuries. Magistrate Noel Bartolo ordered an inquiry and investigations are ongoing.
