Tuesday, 31 January 2023, 10:55 Last update: about 2 years ago

The Central Bank of Malta went live with the MAPS (Market Activities Processing System) on 28 November 2022.

MAPS is the Treasury Management System for Central Banks developed by Banque de France and Banco de España. It uses the software base solution of Adenza, a global leader in treasury management systems. MAPS integrates with the main trading platforms, offering a straight through process spanning from front to back-office, risk management, accounting, and financial reporting functions.

Banque de France and Banco de España started using MAPS since November 2016, with the Central Bank of Cyprus becoming a participant in February 2020 and the Dutch National Central Bank in June 2022. The participation of the Central Bank of Malta since 28 November 2022 has broadened further the MAPS user community, putting MAPS as a common treasury management solution within the community of European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
