Malta is well on its way to regaining its predominant position as a favoured travel destination. In 2022 the country hosted 2.3 million visitors, with the vast majority staying in hotels.
Coupled with the recovery in tourist arrivals, following the Covid-19 pandemic, was the continued opening of new properties in all categories of the accommodation sector, particularly boutique hotels; and this is reflected in the 2023 edition of the Malta Hotels Directory.
The 2022 edition saw the introduction of a dedicated boutique hotels section, and this year's edition sees this section expanded to include 47 of these.
This information and more is available in the just published 2023 edition of the Malta Hotels Directory. This is the 24th edition of the annual directory that was first published in 1999.
The directory is produced by Mosta-based Island Publications on behalf of the Malta Tourism Authority, and is the official accommodation listing for the islands.
It is distributed internationally by the authority and is available from its bureaux abroad and all its PR agents dotted around the world and, of course, locally from the MTA's information offices.
The Malta Hotels Directory 2023 may also be downloaded from the authority's site (www.visitmalta.com/en/a/hotels/).
The 132-page directory lists all licensed hotels, tourist villages (well, there's just one), guest houses and hostels on the islands.
