Work on a dementia garden at St Vincent de Paul home for the elderly has to be delayed after workers discovered the remnants of a World War II aircraft.

The discovery was announced by Minister for the Elderly Joe Etienne Abela on Facebook.

He said that the discovery could mean a delay in the project, he said.

The plane wreck was discovered as open space was being dug up.

The remnants of the plane will be taken to the aviation museum at Ta’ Qali, the minister said.

The home is situated in Luqa, very close to the airport, and several discoveries related to the war have been made in the area concerned.
