Prime Minister Robert Abela is facing increasing pressure to take action against PL MP Rosianne Cutajar following recent revelations regarding her behaviour in relation to alleged mastermind behind the killing of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Last week, journalist Mark Camilleri published details of Whatsapp exchanges between Cutajar and a Yorgen Fenech.

“Despite the seriousness of the allegations, the Prime Minister has yet to take action against Cutajar,” Repubblika said on Tuesday.

In a press release, the NGO has spoken out against the lack of action from Ablea, stating that “it is not acceptable in a democratic country for those in power to avoid accountability for their actions”.

It has called on the Prime Minister to declare that he does not agree with Cutajar's behaviour, dissociate himself and his party from her actions, and to ensure that serious investigations are launched and carried out into the allegations made in the published exchanges.

“The Attorney General and the police have taken steps against those who exposed the revelations,” the NGO said, referring to Mark Camilleri, who published the exchanges last week.

The Prime Minister's inaction has been widely criticized, with many calling on him to take responsibility for ensuring that those in positions of power are held accountable for their actions.
