The Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation, since its inception has collaborated with BNF Bank which is the title holder for all the junior competitions (boys) under the helm of IFF; mainly Under 17, Under 15 and Under 14 (festivals).  As from this season, BNF Bank has extended the sponsorship to include the Under 17 Girls Competition as well.

The agreement was signed in an event that took place in the Centenary Hall in which representatives of each of the seven teams taking part in this competition were invited.

Gareth Sciberras, former National Team Player and now Chairman of the Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation, expressed the Foundation's satisfaction in reaching such a milestone.  Having a commercial partner for this competition, who is in its first year, is an achievement not only for the Foundation but also for women's football in general.  Sciberras expressed his appreciation towards the local bank for their interest and financial support for youth football and its competitions which he said are at the heart of development of both the players, as well as Maltese society in the future.

Sciberras explained that he, being a former player, understands all the sacrifices that the players must go through to perform and this agreement is another step in the right direction to make women's football equal.

'Alway believe in yourselves, and the results will follow' said Gareth Sciberras whilst addressing those present.

Lorrieann Vella, Head of Marketing and Communication Unit at BNF Bank, who signed the agreement together with Sciberras, explained that one of the Bank's objectives is to actively contribute towards the community.

'Our agreement is a tangible means of reinforcing the Bank's commitment to support gender balance, to help elevate local sports and give it a platform not just locally but also on an international level.'

She emphasised that BNF Bank is dedicated to foster a positive environment for young players to develop their skills and to highlight the importance of sport and exercise. The values of teamwork and commitment are not just fundamental for the sports environment but also throughout one's life journey.

As a commercial partnership with Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation (IFF), BNF Bank are honoured to support the development of future elite footballers, as well as their personal growth and well-being, said Ms Vella.
