The government spent €20,000 on the visit of former Italian Prime Minister and Italian Senator Matteo Renzi to Malta for a conference last month.
This information was revealed by Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon, in response to a parliamentary question put forward by PN MP Claudette Buttigieg who asked for the cost of Renzi's visit for the conference "The Welfare State and Welfare Services: Present Challenges and Future Needs."
The conference took place as the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) was celebrating its 25th anniversary since its inception, with 22,007 people having sought help from the organisation just last year.
