An argument in Gzira at 3.15am on Sunday resulted in one man being hospitalized.
The argument occurred between a 29-year-old Libyan man who resides in Għargħur and a 34-year-old Maltese man from Gzira on Triq Sir Patrick Stuart.
The police found the Libyan man injured on Triq ix-Xatt, and he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. He was certified as grievously injured.
Preliminary investigations found that an argument occurred between the two men on Triq Sir Patrick Stuart in Gzira, the police said. The Libyan man suffered injuries allegedly when the other man attacked him with a glass bottle. "The victim tried to escape but the other man got into a car and followed him to Triq ix-Xatt, where he allegedly drove in the direction of the Libyan, hit him, and escaped the scene," the police said.
A search for the alleged aggressor was launched and the vehicle was found abandoned, while the alleged aggressor was found some time later. He is being held under arrest and investigations are ongoing.
