Transport Malta on Saturday stopped a contractor from continuing work on the promenade between Ta’ Xbiex and Msida.

In a statement, the authority said that the contractor was not sticking to professional practices, failed to take steps so as not to create inconvenience and created danger to drivers.

For these reasons, the authority revoked its permit and stopped the contractor from continuing the job. The contractor will also be fined, the authority said.

It added that Infrastructure Malta will take over the contract to pass it on to another contractor to finish the job within the stipulated time.
